Tu B’Shevat Seder Sunday February 4th, 4-6 (Recap and Pictures)

The Havurah’s Tu B’ Shevat Seder hosted Vashon’s own scout troop as part of the Boy Scouts of America’s program of Scout Sunday, Scout Shabbat and Scout Jumuah.  We are pleased to have had the scouts share our Tu B’Shevat Seder led by Julie Shannon.  And to help us plant an apple tree and a rosemary bush in our landscape.

Kol HaKavod to the Vashon scouts!

Scheduled in close proximity to the BSA’s birthday on Feb. 8, the above three days (Scout Sunday, Scout Shabbat and Scout Jumuah celebrate the connection between scouting and faith-based congregations in their own communities. Scouts and scout leaders honor these days by wearing the full field uniform to worship and other services services. In some other scouting units, a worship leader may present religious awards to recipients, and in still other communities, the pack, troop, crew or ship conducts a service project that benefits a religious organization.
