Tu B’Shvat Seder Recap Feb 11, 2017

tubshvatsedertreeOn Saturday February 11th, after a lovely Sabbath afternoon following a tumultuous week of wind and storms, 18 Vashon Island friends and members of the Havurah celebratied “the birthday of the trees.”

Led by Julie Shannon, this short Seder, complete with its four glasses of wine and feast of fruits, nuts, and fragrant herbs, allowed participants the opportunity to move through the seasons and connect self with spirit.

When next you drive by the Havurah building, bless the freshly planted herbs and marvel at the size of the rosemary bush we planted years ago at another Tu B’Shvat Seder!

After the ritual, participants shared Havdalah and a potluck dinner: a perfect ending to a hard week of winter for trees and people.
